Olivia + Isaiah | Lake Windsor Country Club Wedding

Lake Windsor Country Club Wedding

Olivia and Isaiah had a super dreamy winter wedding at Lake Windsor Country Club just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. It was the epitome of a winter wonderland: snow covered grounds, cozy fur wraps, Christmas trees, twinkle lights, and all the white decor.

They had a short and sweet, but emotion-filled ceremony. Olivia had a chair reserved especially for her grandmother, who passed away shortly before the wedding. On the chair sat a photo of her grandmother and Olivia in her wedding dress, as her grandma was able to see her in her dress before she passed. It was a really lovely touch. At the end of their ceremony, before they jumped the broom, their officiant shared some information on the importance within the Black community of jumping the broom at the end of a wedding ceremony. He explained that the tradition was used by enslaved people to signify marriage before they could legally marry. I thought this was a really cool way to include multiple cultures in their marriage ceremony and honor their heritage.

After the ceremony, they had the most amazing party. The dance floor was packed all night long. When it got dark, we snuck outside to take some really beautiful nighttime photos among the snowy twinkly lights. They ended the night by changing into matching sweatsuits – so cute and cozy and the perfect way to wrap up their wedding at Lake Windsor Country Club.
