It’s finally warm enough for us to go to the zoo! Leah’s just gotten to the age where she really enjoys animals and learning different things so she was a HUGE fan of the zoo this trip. When we went last year she liked it – but this year was a lot of fun. I can’t wait until I can get her a zoo pass so we can go whenever we want. When I was in college one of my favorite things was walking to the Lincoln Park Zoo in the dead of winter when no one was around. You could just sit and hang out with the animals.

This week there weren’t too many people walking around so Leah was able to get up close and personal with a lot of the animals. Her favorites were in the Ape house.

Here are a few of my Hipstamatic shots from the trip. I didn’t bring my big camera, but I really like how these turned out!

As I sit and think about it the last few years have been beautiful around this time. We decided to celebrate by going to the zoo! Leah had a ton of fun looking at all the animals. Her favorites were the penguins and the spider monkey. She also loved looking at the peacocks. Almost as much as I  enjoyed photographing them.
